Graded Construction Timber

Here at Thaxters we also stock a wide range of construction grade timber. There are 12 strength grades as set by the British Standard in the BS 5268, but the most commonly specified are C16 and C24 in the trade. C24 being the better of the 2.

Both grades are used in structural applications and are suited to different loads. They can be used for rafters, floor joists, partition walls, formwork, shuttering etc. Most of our stock is kiln dried green treated but we do also stock 3×2 and 4×2 cls c16 untreated and other sizes can be available depending on what we have in stock.
